Dublin Festival of History 2013
The Dublin Festival of History is brought to you by Dublin City Council, and is organised by Dublin City Public Libraries. The vision of the Dublin Festival of History is to provide those with an interest in history and who enjoy reading history for pleasure, an opportunity to listen and discuss a variety of history topics with authors and historians of national and international renown.
Events include lectures, panel discussions, film and historical walks of the city with activities taking place in Dublin Castle, the Dublin City Library and Archive, IFI and branch libraries across the city. There is a wide range of historical themes, eras and topics featured in this year’s programme and we hope you find something to interest you.
Over 70,000 history titles were issued in Dublin City branch libraries last year. The Dublin City Library and Archive houses the City’s archives and extensive collections relating to Dublin and surrounding areas. See our websites for more information – Dublin Heritage for historical resources and genealogical information and the Library blog for digital collections and lots more!
