The Docklands Christmas Festival
Venue: George's Dock Platform the chq building, IFSC Docklands, Dublin
The Docklands Christmas festival 2012 will run from the 7th until the 23rd of December in the IFSC , from 12 noon to 8pm daily, Saturday and Sundays will open at 10:00am. Entry is completely free.
So bring all the Family to the Dublin Docklands Christmas Festival to experience a little bit of magic and Christmas cheer. With over 80 traders partaking in the event you are sure to find something to everyone's taste. Be it hot chocolate with marshmallows for the children, roasted Chestnuts for Granddad or Mulled wine for Mum, this waterside haven is sure to a treat for all.
This year will see a new layout that will incorporate many of the old favourites as well as some new surprises. Back by popular demand this year is the beautifully restored showpiece ‘Galloping Horses' Carousel and other Victorian fairground attractions to keep children of all ages mesmerized. To keep the Christmas cheer flowing there will be carol singers and live bands on stage every day which is situated beside out 1950's Airstream bar. The bar will be serving a wonderful mixture of Mulled wine, hot buttered rums and real hot Irish whiskey.
With a rosy glow in your cheeks from either a trip down the Victorian Helter Skelter or a mulled wine. You can stroll amongst the 80 craft and gift traders who are more than willing to explain in detail the background to their products. Along the way you can stop off to get a bite to eat in one of our many gourmet food stands.
Santa's Grotto a free experience
Santa will be arriving on Saturday 8th December and will meet all the boys and girls every Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 - 19.00. and its free
To celebrate the true giving spirit of Christmas Santa will be asking boys and girls to bring a gift and leave it at Santa's Giving Tree for distribution to a leading children's charity.
So bring your little elves to Dublin Dockland Christmas festival this December to experience Christmas in Dublin with a difference.
