Discover Research Dublin

Discover Research Dublin to Shine a Light into the Fascinating World of Research

On Friday, 27th September, Trinity College Dublin and the Royal Irish Academy will illuminate and engage the public in the world of research for Discover Research Dublin; a night of exciting, interactive events and demonstrations taking place in and around central Dublin.

Using a variety of unique digital and traditional formats including interactive 3D installations, apps and social media, debates, digital archives, tours, presentations and photography, Discover Research Dublin showcases in a very real and tangible way what researchers really do and why research matters for your daily life.

Participants can immerse themselves in a 3D live curated exhibition about the First World War, delve into trusted archival sources at the Royal Irish Academy in 'Journalist for a Night', watch NASA images of the Sun projected on to one of Trinity College’s most prestigious buildings and identify sun spots, or help researchers understand how the objects in our lives and museums shape the way we feel about Ireland.

Discover Research Dublin has received funding from the European Union’s 7th Framework Programme for Research under the Marie Curie People Programme and from Science Foundation Ireland.
