De Gaulle: A Quiet Holiday: A Photographic Exhibition on De Gaulle's visit to Ireland in 1969
Venue: European Union House, 18 Dawson Street, Dublin 2
The exhibition will present original photographs from the Kennelly Archive of De Gaulle's visit to Ireland after he left power in May 1969. Portraits of the McCartans, De Gaulle's Irish ancestors, will also be exhibited. Padraig and Joan Kennelly, founders of a small photographic studio in Tralee, Co. The original exhibition was conceived by Isabelle Galy-Aché and presented by the Irish Cultural Centre in Paris (2011) with the support of the Kennelly Archive, Foundation Charles de Gaulle, Ireland Fund of France.
