Duthain Dealbh, the multi- award winning Sand Sculpting Team, is delighted to be back in Dublin this summer. Inspired by the innovations of Irish scientists, the world- renowned sculptors will carve three free standing masterpieces out of 80 tonnes of sand in just seven days. The finished sculptures will be on display in the Upper Courtyard of Dublin Castle for an entire month.
This exciting cultural event will remain free for everyone to enjoy and is a welcome treat for all the family. For the last decade tourists, families, and the general public have taken great pleasure from watching the Dublin sculptors transform the piles of sand into striking works of art. So be sure to head to Dublin Castle before the Sand Sculptures are removed on September 3rd.
This annual event has been supported by Dublin City Council and the Office of Public Works since 2002 and has been a highlight of the summer ever since.
