The Dublin Discovery Trails
The Dublin Discovery Trail is a direct route from College Green to Kilmainham. But it’s much more besides. It’s a discovery trail, a string of suggestions, a blueprint. You can start or finish where you choose.
A range of themed trails branch off the Dublin Discovery Trail. Each unique self-guided walk reveals fascinating stories through layers of rich content. Launching in 2014, Dublin Discovery Trails provide ways to immerse yourself in the City's vibrant culture and heritage. Each trail has been designed to deliver a unique Dublin experience, helping you to explore the City's hidden treasures.
- Don’t expect to complete The Dublin Discovery Trail in one day! It’s several kilometres long, with centuries of history on every street…
- Don’t worry about sticking to the central line. You can go straight, sideways, backwards or any which way you choose. Why not start at the City Walls and end up at National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Arts & History? Or go from Guinness Storehouse to the Gallery of Photography? Develop your own Dubline!
- Hop on, hop off. The DublineDiscovery Trail is a central trail, but it’s also about wandering off the beaten track… so don’t feel limited by the line. If you’re inspired by Georgian architecture, why not visit St. Stephen’s Green? If you’re interested in the 1916 Rising, why not detour to the GPO?
Lastly, and most importantly… have fun!
