The Dublin Pride Festival 2010 will take place from the 18th to the 27th June 2010 and includes the annual Dublin Pride Parade.
With it's infamous explosion of colour transforming the streets of Dublin, the 2010 festival will be celebrating the city's 27th Anniversary of the Pride Parade while highlighting the desire for further recognition regarding LGBTQ partnership rights.
The anniversary not only commemorates the Stonewall Riots of New York 1969, but marks the important changes which have taken place in gay life over the past 27 years and the positive attitudes of Ireland and Dublin toward the gay community. Dublin Pride Ltd have planned a ten day festival of family fun that the entire city can be proud of.
More Information to Follow
Dublin Pride has three core values which it aims to promote through the festival:
Celebrating Diversity
Not only to tolerate, but to accept and celebrate diversity with the understanding that it is our differences which make us extraordinary.
Inclusiveness
To seek out those who are on the fringes and to take practical, concrete steps to ensure their inclusion in society.
Increased Visibility & Mutual Respect
To increase the visibility of the Dublin LGBTQ community within the wider Dublin, Irish and global community while communicating the message of mutual respect; to appreciate others for what they are, for how they are different and to respect them for such.
In order to highlight a specific topical facet of Dublin Pride, each year's festival will be given a unique theme.
