Rhythms is an exhibition of the most recent work of Denis and Rosemary Ferguson, and the theme is interpreted in a variety of ways.
Denis has always been involved in music, so the playing of music greatly influences his painting. He also looks for rhythms in other forms of movement, such as horse and greyhound racing, especially where it can be associated with a tune or a song.
By contrast, Rosemary explores the natural rhythms created by the changing patterns, textures and colours of Irish forests, lakes and sea, through the media of felted, dyed merino wool fibres incorporating embroidery.
Rhythms is an exhibition of the most recent work of Denis and Rosemary Ferguson. It explores the theme of rhythm in a broad sense, including music, movement and those of nature, using oil on canvas, watercolour and dyed, felted, merino wool fibres embellished with embroidery.
