George Bernard Shaw's Birthday Celebrations

Venue: The Wax Museum Plus, The Armoury, Foster Place, Temple Bar, Dublin 2

As we all know Ireland is renowned for its literary greats such as James Joyce, WB Yeats and Samuel Beckett...the list is endless! An entire room in the Wax Museum Plus is dedicated to these Irish Greats and on the 26 July the legendary George Bernard Shaw's birthday will be celebrated here at the museum. Our resident performers will be reading from his works, including his world renowned play 'Pygmalion' along with some of his short stories. This culture-rich event will take place in the writer's room on the ground floor from 12 noon to 5pm each day. This is an opportunity for visitors to pay tribute to one of our national treasures and get their photograph taken with him. After the enchanting storytelling by the performers you can browse all the other great attractions the museum has to offer. There is something for all ages including Children's Fantasy World, Irish Heroes of Discovery, The Grand Hall, The Writers Room, Hall of Irish Legends and a chance to record your own music video with top quality equipment in the Wax Factor. The National Wax Museum Plus looks forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide this July and hopes to entertain and inform on Irish history, mythology, music, science and sport by presenting it in a truly interactive way.
