Freshly Squeezed International Student Short Film Festival
The first of its kind in Ireland, Freshly Squeezed International Student Short Film Festival has diversity at its heart. The aim is to provide an international platform for young filmmakers worldwide who might otherwise find it difficult to get their work shown due to a lack of budget and/or screening opportunities. For this reason submissions are free and ticket prices low.
After a hugely successful first year in 2012, the festival is back in 2013 with over 250 submissions from up and coming filmmakers worldwide. Over one day in May the top selections will be shown in Dublin's Sugar Club, drawing in a wide variety of both local and international talent.
On the day of the festival, hours of student short film will be screened, featuring categories including fiction, documentary, experimental and animation. Each will be accompanied by a feedback session and Audience and Jury prizes will be awarded to winning films. Seminars and a networking session with established industry professionals will take place and footage of these will be made available online for those unable to attend. All guests will be announced one week prior to the festival.
Freshly Squeezed is a truly international film festival that extends beyond borders. The programme gives young filmmakers the chance to make useful contacts and foster future creative collaborations, as well as giving film lovers a chance to experience work from up and coming talent. Go along, support and enjoy!
