Connections, Relationships & Opportunities when Ireland Reaches Out
Summer at the National Library of Ireland promises to be especially interesting this year. As part of our contribution to The Gathering, we are hosting a series of lunchtime lectures on different aspects of Irish family history research in July and August 2013. Lectures will take place in the Seminar Room at 1pm and will last approximately 30 minutes Attendance is Free, no booking required just drop in on the day.
The first of these lectures is entitled Connections, Relationships & Opportunities when Ireland Reaches Out and will be delivered by Henry Healy, Ireland XO on Tuesday 2 July at 1.00pm.
Henry Healy is currently employed as the Community Activation Leader for the National Diaspora Programme “Ireland Reaching Out”. In Henry’s role of community activation he visits communities throughout the 32 counties of Ireland encouraging and promoting the benefits of Ireland reconnecting with their ancestral sons and daughters. This volunteer led programme uses reverse genealogy to identify people of Irish ancestry while assisting those tracing their Irish roots using the traditional methods.
