A DUBLIN MUSIC FESTIVAL WITH A TWIST
This year at Hard Working Class Heroes Dublin city once again became the main stage as 100 of the best independent acts performed in 6 venues over 3 days from the 3rd-5th of October.
Hard Working Class Heroes is a music festival with a difference. No porta-loos, no leaky tents and no trying to watch your favourite band through a sheet of bone-chilling rain. This year saw the inclusion of HWCH Digital to the festival, an initiative that aims to give support to creative tech start-up companies. With the launch of HWCH Digital ticket holders were able to avail of convention panels and creative technology sessions adding a bonus element to the already jam packed festival.
Need to be convinced of the credentials of this festival? Recent alumni include The Strypes, Villagers and Fionn Regan.
Highlilghts from this year’s crop of exciting new talent included Daithí: the fiddle-house fusion boy wonder, Choice Music Prize nominees: Tieranniesaur, who brought their own blend of indie disco pop to the table, and Hozier who exploded onto the scene this year and managed to pack out The Button Factory for his stellar set. If you take pleasure from boasting about seeing an act 'before they were famous,' then this is the festival for you.
