SALUTING IRISH STAGE HERITAGE WITH EUROPE’S OLDEST THEATRE FESTIVAL
Running from the 26th of September to the 13th of October the Dublin Theatre Festival caters to every taste imaginable, with a plethora of classical and contemporary theatre, music, dance and comedy being served up from a mix of international and homegrown talent.
Now in its 56th year the Dublin Theatre Festival is Europe’s oldest specialised theatre festival and is a testament to Dublin’s rich theatrical and literary heritage. But don’t let its age fool you, this festival is as cutting edge as they come.
Adaptations of Irish classics such as Finnegan’s Wake and Waiting for Godot sit alongside innovative international offerings like circus-burlesque act Wunderkrammer and the minimalist Noh Theatre show Ground and Floor.
With over 500 performances in over 20 venues, this festival turns the entire city into a hub of creativity, excitement and life.
