O'Callaghan Mont Clare Hotel

For a taste of old Dublin, the Mont Clare Hotel is a hidden gem.  Ideally located and being 3 star, the hotel offers exceptional value for money for visitors looking for a downtown, city centre location that is tranquil and stress free.

The Mont Clare Hotel is a short stroll from Grafton Street, Ireland’s famous shopping street as well as being within walking distance of Temple Bar, the main tourist attractions, theatres, concert venues, pubs and shops.  Merrion Square (one of Dublin’s most beautiful 18th century parks) is across the road from the hotel, which is overlooked by Government Buildings, the Dail and the Natural History Museum.  It features an open-air art gallery on Sundays.

The Mont Clare Hotel reflects the quirky and eclectic 19th & 20th century characters such as the famous Irish writer James Joyce who frequented the hotel in the past and which remains a favourite with locals.  The hotel’s 74 bedrooms (comprising doubles, twins, executive & junior suites) were fully refurbished in 2005, in a gentle style that is sympathetic to its roots and quaintly Irish, described as “old fashioned but with all the mod cons”, and includes free Wifi when booked directly on the hotel’s own website.

It is convenient to all public transport – taxis, trains, public cycles and the Aircoach, a shuttle service that goes to Dublin Airport from Kildare Street which is nearby.  Car parking is available.
