Sandycove is a small, bustling coastal village located south of Dublin city, with a variety of restauraunts and bars. The martello tower at Sandycove was once home to James Joyce, one of Ireland's most famous literary figures. It is now a museum in his honour, known as the 'James Joyce Museum'. The popular 'Forty Foot' bathing spot is located just beside the tower.

Sandycove is approximately 20km from the city centre.The number 59 bus runs from the city centre to Sandycove.The DART also services the area stopping at Sandycove and Glasthule.
