Dublin Discovery Trails
A unique way to experience Dublin
If you’re new to Dublin and want to explore the city’s hidden (and not so hidden) treasures, the Dublin Discovery Trails are for you.
Dublin Discovery Trails, launching late 2014, are plotted along The Dubline. That’s Dub-line. A line through Dublin, forming an orientation route which guides you effortlessly to some of the City’s most visited sites and attractions. Extending from Kilmainham Gaol through to Trinity College and Parnell Square, The Dubline connects all the city centre based Dubin Discovery Trails.
Each self-guided walking trail has been designed to deliver a unique and immersive Dublin experience and will be supported by the Dublin Discovery Trails app. This app will bring the compelling stories of Dublin to life through a series of engaging audio guides enriched with personal accounts, maps, images and videos.
You’ll see big hits like Trinity College, Dublin Castle and Kilmainham Gaol. But you can also listen to the music, taste the Guinness and kick back with Dubliners as you go.
It’s both a heritage trail and a chance to take the pulse of a modern city. Beyond the main tourist attractions, there are hidden places where you’ll find a rich culture, vibrant arts, iconic architecture, great food made by passionate people, nature and so much more.
Dublin Discovery Trails are about wandering off the beaten track and uncovering some of Dublin’s secrets, waiting to be revealed to the curious, before re-orientating yourself back onto The Dubline, ready for your next experience.
Each trail is simple to navigate, easy on the feet and has an exciting, revealing theme. Do just one, or do them all!
