Sandycove, accessed by Glasthule DART Station, its beautiful cove is small but irresistible and is a magnet for young families enjoying the summer sunshine. The jewel in the crown of Sandycove has to be of course James Joyce’s Martello Tower. It is said that Joyce wrote the first chapter of the famous Ulysses from the gun platform on the roof.
