Dollymount strand is located within the city limits of Dublin city. It is a very long beach with Bull Island nature reserve in the hinterland. Bull island is a UNESCO biosphere reserve and a bird sanctuary and several other designations which afford it long-term protection.
How to get there:
To get to Dollymount, you can take a bus from Dublin City and walk about1/2 mile to the beach. Cycling to the beach is also possible with a dedicated cycle track close by. Dollymount is located north of the river Liffey and one can drive north out of the city up the coast road heading for Clontarf.
Dollymount strand is lifeguarded from June1-August 31 from 10am until dusk.
