Tymon Park (Willington) Playground and Adventure Trail was opened in June 2005.
It comprises two distinct areas, each with particular features for children of different age groups.
The more formal section is close to the lakes at Willington. It has multicoloured play surfaces split into two sections, the green zone for toddlers (2 to 6), and the blue zone for children aged 6 to 12. This is the area with the traditional swings and slides, roundabouts, and multiplay units. The safety surface is made with a wet-pour rubber designed to absorb every playground impact.
Located alongside this formal area are the Woodland Adventure Trails, which are suitable for the older age groups of children and all who regard themselves as children. In building this facility, we have benefitted from the work of parks staff from previous years, for it is they who planted this woodland, two decades ago and thereby provided this unique environment.
