Trails & Tales offer short cultural walking tours of the Dublin Mountains with magnificent views over Dublin City and Bay. The walks take just over an hour and are suitable for all regardless of age or fitness level. Longer walks of up to 2 ½- 3 hours can be arranged and tailored to suit group needs. Walks take place throughout the year and no specialist walking gear is required. However, we can provide rainjackets for visitors comfort should they be required

Guests are guided along ancient pathways through quiet valleys, mountains, boglands and lakes and give an understanding of times past. Walks are led by a local guide whose family has been living in the area since the 1700’s. We offer a truly unique experience in a fun and relaxed environment

We provide a direct shuttle service from designated public transport stops (Luas/Bus) or hotel/conference centre. Alternatively, we escort guests with their own transport from a designated meeting point.

En route, we stop at a scenic point so guests enjoy panoramic views of Dublin and beyond. From there, we bring them to the walking trail which is located in a scenic, tranquil valley to enjoy stories, sagas and myths of the past times. We give them a map of the area dating from the 1800s to keep as a reminder of their visit.

Trails in the mountains are traditionally associated with long treks in specialist clothing and we want to dispel that myth. Trails & Tales is for all levels of fitness and no specialist gear is required.

The walks are led by an authentic guide who is local to the area where the new trails are being developed. As our family have been in the area for many generations, the guide will relay authentic tales giving a real sense of what life is like in this scenic valley.

The visitor can appreciate ancient heritage and walk its scenic routes in an ecologically sound way

Part of the new trail goes by family farm and is off the beaten track.

Visitors don’t need a map to find us – they can be met or accompanied from an agreed meeting point.

We offer those visiting Dublin City an opportunity to see and visit rural Ireland in a very accessible way

We can provide an interpreter for international visitors at minimal extra cost/pp. Guide also speaks Italian and has Teaching English as forgein language qualification .
