The Boardwalk, first opened at the end of 1999, has proved to be one of the city’s most successful Millennium projects. As well as allowing a pedestrian route close to the river and an opportunity to sit on one of the sun-drenched benches or quaff a coffee at riverside kiosk it gives a wonderful perspective of the south banks of the city.
