Lucan is located 15 km from Dublin’s city centre.
On the River Liffey, Lucan is now a town embracing the old village. Stroll along the pleasant valley known as the Strawberry Beds, a favourite excursion spot for Dubliners at the start of the twentieth century and was popular with the growers of the fruit which gave the valley its name. The village is noted for its Georgian architecture.
Griffeen Valley Park is located in Lucan and it’s home to Ireland’s first concrete Skate Park, Lucan House and Demense, several walking trails and King John’s Bridge.
