Possessing a fair but testing reputation, Edmondstown Golf Club in delightful environs in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains 7 miles to the south and west of the city centre, is a well-maintained and manicured course in elevated deciduous parkland.

Major focal points of the course are the secluded 4th and 6th holes, which are isolated from the remainder of the course by a meandering stream, drawing the  golfer into a difficult shot to the green; indeed the aforementioned 6th remains one of the best inland par fours in Ireland.
