The Silk Road Café is often considered one of Dublin’s best hidden treasures. It’s located in the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin Castle with a view over the Castle garden and next to the Coach House. In 2000 The Silk Road Café took over the café premise in the museum.
Proprietor and Chef Abraham Phelan decided to base the cuisine on some of the countries represented in the museum. Middle Eastern, North African, Mediterranean and vegetarian dishes are created by Abraham and his team of Arabic chefs. The focus in each dish is home cooking using only the freshest ingredients and following halal rules.
